Build Your Recovery Plan For Your Independent Optometry Practice

The worst of the shock is over.

If you want to be successful and come out ahead of the game after all this, it’s time to pivot from crisis to opportunity and start creating the practice and life that you truly want.

Never let a crisis go to waste. It’s an opportunity to do things you thought you could not do before.

Here’s the value a crisis gives:

  1. It shakes you awake – no more just going through the motions.
  2. It forces you to re-evaluate EVERYTHING

This is not just about your optometry practice. This is about your life. And your plan for your practice has to support the plan for the life you desire. A lot of you will have been thinking this way in recent days.

Do you still want to be working six days a week, or do you want to take this opportunity to plan out a successful practice that allows you to spend more time with your family and your favorite hobbies?

Years ago, I designed a plan for my optometry practice that supported the kind of life I wanted. Yes I work hard. But it is on my terms. I only do the work I want to do. The work I’m good at. The work that I find most interesting and enjoyable. The work I am highly paid for.

So what that looks like is an optometry practice with $1260 average dispense value, clients that love us and rave about us and recommend us, and clients that we love serving, clients that value what we do, a $1.4 million practice, a fantastic team that loves what they do, and they enable me to run the show from a distance, I’m in the practice once or twice a week, I get to live where I want to live in the countryside, miles away from the practice, I get to be home, see my kids, ride my bike in the middle of the day, run with the dog, not work weekends, take 8 or 10 weeks of holiday without any loss of revenue.

That was all by design. And that is the opportunity for you starting today.

I just described my ideal practice and work life balance that I am extremely happy with. But that is not your vision. The goal is for you to figure out what you want, and you design it, and find a way to make it happen.

Here is the only rule:

You can have what ever you want. As long as you deliver enough value to the market place.

The market doesn’t care about what you want or what I want. It only cares about value.

If you need help figuring all this out, and want a blueprint to recovery and how to build your perfect practice, I’ll be doing a special free conference call on Monday, April 20th!

It’s time to ask yourself, what would YOUR perfect practice look like after this, and start doing the things to make it a reality.
